Overview

Hot dip galvanizing is a crucial process to protect fasteners from corrosion, especially in harsh environments. At RFI, fasteners are immersed in molten zinc at around 450°C, forming a durable zinc-iron alloy coating. This protects the fasteners from rust, corrosion, and environmental wear, extending their lifespan significantly.

Heat Treatment

Step-by-Step Process

Surface Preparation

Fasteners are cleaned via degreasing and pickling to remove impurities.

Galvanizing

Fasteners are immersed in molten zinc, which forms a metallurgical bond

Cooling & Inspection:

The galvanized fasteners are cooled and inspected for uniform coating.

Why This Process?

Hot dip galvanizing ensures long-lasting corrosion protection, making fasteners suitable for use in harsh environments like marine, offshore, and industrial applications. The zinc coating provides both barrier and sacrificial protection, allowing the fasteners to maintain their integrity even when exposed to moisture, chemicals, and extreme weather conditions. Additionally, hot dip galvanizing offers comprehensive coverage, ensuring that all areas of the fastener, including threads and recesses, are fully protected. This uniform coating guarantees enhanced durability and significantly reduces the risk of corrosion, extending the lifespan of the fasteners and minimizing maintenance and replacement costs.
